Miyajima Souvenir Shop Funatsuki (宮島のおみやげ処 ふなつき)

Miyajima Souvenir Shop Funatsuki is located on the Omotesando shopping street on Miyajima. The store sells a variety of souvenirs such as keychains and toys, as well as Miyajima’s standard souvenir, the rice scoop. One of the most popular items in the store is Miyajima Hariko, a traditional craft from the Miyajima area. Miyajima Hariko, with its bright colors and cute animal faces, are hand crafter one by one by Miyajima craftsman who carry on the tradition. These small cute dolls with animal motifs such as deer, monkeys and owls, always prove to be a popular choice.

Miyajima Souvenir Shop Funatsuki is one of the few stores in Miyajima that sells Miyajima Hariko. In the shop you can find variety of animal motifs, from deer and monkeys, which are symbols of Miyajima, to cats and owls, which are said to bring happiness. In addition to Miyajima Hariko, there are also a variety of other souvenirs available, such as Miyajima-yaki dolls made by the Ochi Kiln, which are formed using sea sand from Itsukushima Shrine. You can also buy miniature versions of the Great Torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine.
