Novelty Souvenirs
Where can I find unique Hiroshima souvenirs? We’ve wandered into novelty souvenir shops across Hiroshima and curated the most interesting ones here. Laugh at plush hats in the shape of Miyajima deer heads. Track down socks with the Grand Tori Gate on them. Find Hiroshima Carp themed apparel and accessories. Wonder at vending machines selling cans of Hiroshima’s air or plush oyster charms. We’ve seen it all. Our souvenir guide is your ticket to distinctly Hiroshima gifts.

Kobo Yottsukado (工房四つ角)

The shop is located in Tomonoura, Fukuyama City. The store’s name “Yottsukado” means “intersection” in Japanese, and comes from the store’s location at the corner of what used to be the only intersection in Tomonoura. You can buy original, one-of-a-kind items such as cat motifs and handmade ceramics made in the kiln adjacent to the store.

The charm of “Kobo Yottsukado” is the owner’s sense of style and skill. In addition to interior goods with cat motifs, there is a large selection of goods with rabbit, fish, and kappa (water imp) motifs. The owner’s sense of humor shines through in the unusual miscellaneous goods that are especially popular. The shop sells many humorous items, such as a toothpick holder in the shape of a fallen samurai and a dog figurine with a happy expression.
