Cinema Onomichi (シネマ尾道)

Cinema Onomichi is a movie theater located within a 30-second walk from JR Onomichi Station. It was founded by volunteers who wanted to revive a movie theater in Onomichi, which is known as a “movie town” where many famous movies have been shot. The cinema is a so-called mini-theater with only one screen, and shows a wide variety of movies, from famous films to classic silent movies.

All the movies screened are selected by the manager and assistant manager, and you can enjoy all kinds of movies, from famous movies shown at multiplexes to mini-theater movies and silent movies made in the early 20th century. The interior of the theater was remodeled from the Shochiku Onomichi movie theater that once existed in Onomichi, and you can enjoy the retro atmosphere of a movie theater built in the mid-20th century.
