Hannover Garden (ハノーバー庭園)

The Hannover Garden is located about a five-minute walk from the Atomic Bomb Dome. It was built in 1980 to promote friendship and cultural exchange with the city of Hannover, which was at the time part of West Germany. The design of the park is based on the flowerbeds of the actual Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover. The park is also a popular place for children living nearby to have picnics and relax during the warm sunny months.

In the Hannover Garden, you can enjoy beautiful flowers in every season and a fountain that represents the friendship between the cities of Hiroshima and Hannover. Although it is located in the busy center of Hiroshima City, it is a park where you can spend a calm time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is popular with parents and children who enjoy picnics on weekends and holidays, and also attracts many spectators during events.
