Hiroshima Bus Center (広島バスセンター)

If you wish to depart for anywhere from downtown Hiroshima where the Atomic Bomb Dome is located, look no further than the Hiroshima Bus Center the largest bus terminal in the entire prefecture. Not only can one access a plethora of locations within Hiroshima Prefecture, but a tourist can travel as far outside the prefecture as Tokyo without any transfers. The waiting area has heavily revamped in 2018 and now contains a food hall and an area chock full of souvenir stores. Because the general information counter provides guidance in English, passengers can rest easy if they don’t know which bus is the best to take.

When one boards a bus at the Hiroshima Bus Center, tourist sites that couldn’t normally be reached by Shinkansen or JR trains become accessible. With the exception of some lines, local bus lines are equipped with English displays inside their vehicles, which means tourists can enjoy their bus journey worry-free. Additionally, the Pokémon Center Hiroshima and Sanrio Shop are located on the sixth floor of the same building (the SOGO Hiroshima Store), which means the Hiroshima Bus Center is also convenient as a place to shop.
