Roadside Station Takano (道の駅たかの)

Roadside Station Takano is a tourist facility located in Takano Town, Shobara City. In the curvy building, there are many facilities such as the “Wai Wai Highland Market” where you can buy seasonal agricultural products such as apples, a specialty of the town, restaurants that use a lot of ingredients produced in Takano Town, and the “Snow Room” that has been used as a natural refrigerator in Takano Town for a long time. On holidays, street vendors sell sweets, and the area is crowded with tourists. There is also an express bus service from JR Hiroshima Station, so you don’t need to rent a car to get there.

At Roadside Station Takano, you can buy fresh vegetables and pickles made from vegetables grown in Takano Town. One of the most popular items is the chiffon cake made by Fuji-no-ya Confectionery, which has been a favorite in Takano Town for decades. The charm of this cake is its simple taste made from apples grown in Takano Town.
