Kohannosato Fukutomi Rest Area is a leisure facility located in Fukutomi-cho, Higashihiroshima City. You can enjoy camping and athletic activities in an environment rich in nature. The facility has a day camping area where you can enjoy day trips, a plaza with athletic equipment, and an exchange center that sells local food. At the Exchange Center, there are a variety of stores, such as “Fukutomi Shokudo,” which serves delicious food made with locally-produced and consumed ingredients, and the bakery “Marugoto,” which sells homemade bread made with domestic wheat and natural yeast.

The most attractive feature of the Kohannosato Fukutomi Rest Area is that you can enjoy day camping in a rich natural environment surrounded by forests and a dam (on Shakunage Lake). 12 camp sites are adjacent to an athletic field where children can play, so parents and children can fully enjoy camping together. You can rent a sunshade tarp and a barbecue stove, which are essential for day camping, and buy barbecue ingredients such as mushrooms and vegetables at the store inside the facility, so you can enjoy barbecue without any help.
