Suigun no Sato (水軍の郷)

Suigun no Sato, a 7-minute walk from JR Saijo Station, is a restaurant specializing in live fish dishes. There is also a large selection of alcoholic beverages to go with the fish dishes. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of sake, which naturally includes the famous Saijo Sake, which adds a unique taste of Saijo to your seafood feast.

The main attraction of Suigun no Sato is the huge live cascade set up inside the restaurant. The fresh seafood that is sent directly from the local fish market every day swims in the pond. The fish is pulled out of the pond as soon as the order is placed, so you can enjoy the freshness of the fish. The most popular dish is the “Suigun Sashimi Platter.” Tuna, salmon, shellfish, and other seafood are freshly pulled from the pond and prepared for a dish that is both pleasing to the eye and the palate.
