Okuda Genso Sayume Art Museum (奥田元宋・小由女美術館)
The Okuda Genso Sayume Art Museum is dedicated to the artistic couple Genso Okuda, a Japanese painter, and his wife Sayume Okuda, a dollmaker. It is located in Mr. Okuda’s hometown of Miyoshi, and the works of both artists are periodically rotated in the permanent exhibition. There are also other temporary exhibitions and events that take place throughout the year, and the outside of the museum is an attraction in and of itself.
Moment of Joy
They say it’s what’s on the inside that counts, but the Okuda Genso Sayume Museum spares no expense on making its outside look good as well. The museum sports a vast, reflective pool that is capable of evoking pensive thoughts in viewers, day or night. Try to time a visit here on the night of a full moon for the most photogenic side of the museum.
