Shikato Lemon (しかとレモン)
Shikato Lemon is a general store located in the etto shopping mall near the Miyajima-guchi pier. The name “Shikato Lemon,” which literally means, “deer and lemon,” comes from the wild deer that live on Miyajima and the lemons that are a specialty of the Seto Inland Sea. In the spacious store, you can find small items with the motif of the deer that gave the store its name, as well as cosmetics made with lemons. Goods featuring the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, a professional baseball team based in Hiroshima, are also popular.
Moment of Joy
Shikato Lemon sells many cute sundries with motifs related to Miyajima and Hiroshima. One of the most popular items is the matryoshka, handmade one by one by a young artist. Each matryoshka has a motif of a deer or a girl, and in the hands of the matryoshka are items that represent Hiroshima, such as a rice scoop and a Momiji Manju. The shop is a popular place to buy souvenirs for yourself or as gifts for your loved ones.
