Roadside Station Mai Road IC Chiyoda (道の駅舞ロード・インターチェンジ千代田)

Roadside Station Mairode IC Chiyoda is a tourist facility located just off the Chiyoda Interchange in Kitahiroshima Town. Its trademark is a huge taiko drum that can be seen from the highway, and inside the building are various facilities such as the Kitahiro Market and restaurants. There is also a bus terminal on the premises, so even if you don’t have a rental car, you can still visit from Hiroshima or go to various areas in Geihoku and Bihoku from “Michi no Eki Mai Road IC Chiyoda”.

Once a month on Sundays, Roadside Station Mai Road IC Chiyoda holds a kagura performance at the restaurant “Hibiki” in the facility. Kagura is a traditional performing art dedicated to the gods, and is a dynamic drama based on Japanese mythology. In the area around Kitahiroshima Town, where Roadside Station Mai Road IC Chiyoda is located, kagura has been rooted in the culture since ancient times, and many kagura troupes are active. There are many kagura troupes in the area, and on the days that kagura performances are held at Roadside Mai Road IC Chiyoda you can see famous kagura performances by kagura troupes from the Geihoku as well as Bihoku regions.
