I came to Japan in 2023 looking to escape my slow-paced marketing job in suburban Georgia. I initially settled in rural Ehime Prefecture before eventually moving to Hiroshima City. During my time in Ehime, I developed a love for discovering hidden-gem destinations and local restaurants around Shikoku. I started a travel blog to share these discoveries and hopefully bring more attention to one of Japan’s less-visited regions.

Now that I’m in the big city (well, by Ehime standards), I’m excited to do the same with Joy in Hiroshima. Hiroshima Prefecture has so much to offer that visitors often overlook. Of course, places like Miyajima and Peace Memorial Park are must-sees, but I hope to help people discover the lesser-known spots that make Hiroshima special, too.
