Hiroshima Prefectural Beach (県民の浜)

Civic Beach (Kenmin no Hama) is a resort spot located in Hiroshima Prefecture’s Kure City. The beach has been recognized as one of the best 100 beaches in Japan and is a lovely place for swimming and marine sports. There are several lodging facilities along the coast, such as the dome-shaped Cottages of Kamagari and Kamagari Cottage, where you can spend the night while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Seto Inland Sea. There is also a facility where you can experience making local sea salt using earthenware.

In addition to swimming at Civic Beach (Kenmin no Hama) in summer, there are various other tourist spots nearby. Such locations include the Kamagari Onsen Yasuragi no Yakata (a facility where you can enjoy natural hot springs) and the Kure Kamagari Observatory (a unique observatory along the coastline). One of the most popular facilities is the Kamagari Dome Cottages. The Kamagari Dome Cottages are stylish white dome-shaped cottages that give you the feeling of being on Greece’s Santorini Island.
