Shimauma PAN (島旨パン)

Shimauma PAN is a bakery located inside the Hotel Miyajima Villa. The bakery sells many original handmade breads that can only be found on Miyajima, such as Miyajima Blueberry Bread, with plenty of blueberries kneaded into the dough, and sandwiches with unsalted butter and sweetened bean paste from Momiji Manju. Because it is only a few minutes’ walk from the Miyajima Pier, it is easy to visit and attracts many tourists in addition to hotel guests.

All of the bread sold at Shimauma PAN is homemade. Each loaf is carefully baked in the bakery attached to the store, so if you come at the right time, you will be able to buy bread fresh out of the oven. Of course, the bread is delicious even after it has cooled, so people often buy it as a souvenir or even as an evening snack. There is also a dining bar called “Kura Vitto” in Hotel Miyajima Villa, where Shimauma PAN is located. The dining bar serves delicious drinks so you can enjoy eating your freshly baked bread with a nice refreshment.
