Bingo Fuchu Joge Doll Festival Through March 22nd!!

Tucked away in the northern reaches of Fuchu City (not to be confused with Fuchu Town), the former imperial territory known as Joge kicked off its annual Hinamatsuri (雛祭 – Doll Festival) this past Saturday. Elaborate displays of hina dolls can be found throughout town until Sunday, March 22nd, but on the weekend of February 28th to March 1st, there will also be a “Deko Market” held on the main street with whitewashed houses (pictured above). The modest but quaint flea market will have vendors selling fresh produce, handcrafted trinkets, freshly fried festival foods, and more! Joge Station may be a long way out from Hiroshima City, but with direct buses departing from the Hiroshima Bus Center, a day trip to Joge for scenic countryside and some of the most amazing hina dolls you will ever see is worth the journey.
