Kome Kome Cafeteria (米米食堂)
Located on Kokusai Street, two blocks north of Hondori and right next to Round 1, Kome Kome Cafeteria is a diner serving traditional Japanese set meals. In addition to set meals that come with rice, miso soup, chilled tofu, and Japanese pickles, along with a choice of about 20 main dishes, one can also enjoy donburi (rice bowls) and katsu (pork cutlet) curry. The ordering process is extremely smooth as customers can use the ticket vending machine inside the restaurant (English available).
Moment of Joy
Kome Kome Cafeteria is partial to using locally sourced ingredients, so their dishes are all made with ingredients from Hiroshima Prefecture. They use “Hinohikari,” a recommended brand of white rice with origins in Hiroshima Prefecture known for its fluffy texture. Their signature kara-age fried chicken is made with chicken marinated in a special seasoning and then deep-fried to a crisp, juicy perfection.
