Ushitora Shrine (艮神社)
The Ushitora Shrine is the oldest shrine in Onomichi, with a history of over 1,200 years, making it the oldest shrine in Onomichi. The shrine grounds are also famous for having been featured many times in famous movies and anime. The shrine was the setting for the movie “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and the anime “Kamichu!” Neko no Hosomichi (Cat Alley), which is also a popular tourist spot, leads from the back of the shrine.

The four camphor trees are all estimated to be over 900 years old, and the largest one is over 7 meters in diameter. In recent years, the shrine has become a popular power spot among tourists, and is always crowded with visitors. The shrine has also been featured in a famous movie, and many fans make a pilgrimage to the location of their favorite movie.
