Okita Fisheries (沖田水産)

Located about an 11-minute walk from JR Miyajimaguchi Station, Okita Suisan is a roadside shop overlooking the sea that is directly operated by a local Hiroshima oyster farmer. Diners can easily enjoy street food such as takoyaki and fried oysters at reasonable prices. In the winter, seasonal oyster dishes such as oyster rice are also sold (while supplies last). The shop has an eat-in space where the scent of oysters wafts through the air and customers can enjoy the food and drinks they purchased.

NOTE: Reservations not possible.

At “Okita Suisan,” diners can enjoy a wide variety of oyster dishes in a street food stall-like atmosphere, something only possible at an establishment directly operated by an oyster farmer. Particularly popular is the oyster-filled pancake, where plump oysters are baked in a round shape with batter. They also offer classic oyster dishes such as fried oysters and steamed oysters.
