Onomichi Cinema Museum (おのみち映画資料館)
The Onomichi Cinema Museum is a museum that displays valuable materials about Onomichi, a prosperous film town, and the famous Japanese films that were shot in Onomichi. This museum was renovated from an old warehouse that was used around the 19th century, and both the exterior and interior have a retro atmosphere. Of course, for those in their 50s and above who know about the golden age of Japanese movies, this museum is a trip down memory lane. However, the museum is popular among tourists of all ages, including young people who have a love for the Japanese classics.
Moment of Joy
The Onomichi Cinema Museum displays valuable materials related to Japanese films, such as posters that were used at the time of screening, as well as old film projectors that were actually used to show films. There is also a mini-theater inside the museum, showing condensed versions of Japanese films. The museum can be enjoyed by both those who love Japanese movies and those who have never seen a Japanese movie before.
