Momijidani Park (紅葉谷公園)

Momijidani Park is a beautiful park located at the foot of Mt. Misen. More than 700 maple trees thrive in the park, making it a popular spot to enjoy the autumn colors. There is also an old-fashioned tea house within the park where you can rest during your walk or climb around the island. During certain times of the year, many photographers come to the park from all around to take beautiful pictures of the colored leaves and the wild animals that live on the island.

The highlight of Momijidani Park is the beautiful scenery that can be enjoyed in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In spring and summer, the lush greenery is refreshing, and in autumn (from around October to late November), the leaves turn into stunning autumn colors (Koyo). When the leaves begin to fall, the red leaves of the maple trees fall to the ground, making it look like a red carpet has been laid out. The shrine is also lit up in October and November when the autumn leaves are at their best, and visitors can enjoy different views day and night.
