The Starbucks is also attached to MIYAJIMA BREWERY, a craft beer store that sells beer from Miyajima. In addition to coffee, Frappuccinos, and other items familiar to Starbucks customers in Europe and the United States, the store also offers many items on the menu sold only in Japan.
Moment of Joy
STARBUCKS Itsukushima Omotesando sells original mugs, here being the only place in the world that they can be purchased. Especially popular are the mugs made of “Osunayaki,” a traditional craft of Miyajima. Osunayaki is a ceramic ware made by kneading in sacred sea sand blessed at Itsukushima Shrine. It is characterized by its natural beige color and warm touch. The mugs sold at Starbucks in Miyajima are designed with a traditional pattern called “momiji-mon,” which is made by pasting maple leaves( the symbol of Miyajima) onto the mug. Many tourists buy them to commemorate their visit to Miyajima.
