Oyster Ship Kanawa (かき船かなわ)

The Oyster Ship Kanawa, floating on the Motoyasu River in Peace Park, is one of the few restaurants in Hiroshima where you can eat oysters on a boat. Seto (on the first floor) offers simple oyster dishes such as fried oysters and grilled oysters, while Waku (on the second floor) offers custom-made oyster course meals to suit your budget and taste. Please note that both Seto and Waku require reservations up to one week in advance for some courses.

Moment of Joy

Aboard the Oyster Ship Kanawa, they have implemented a system that covers everything from the production to the sales and cooking of their dishes. They only use select oysters from Fukaura on Okurokami Island in Hiroshima Prefecture. Fukaura is known for having some of the cleanest waters in the Seto Inland Sea. The seawater is not polluted by domestic wastewater and has a high salt concentration, so the oysters are firm and plump and can be eaten raw.
