Ozegawa Hot Springs Deity Circuit (小瀬川温泉神さまめぐり)

In the vicinity of Ozegawa Hot Springs in Hatsukaichi is Ozegawa Shrine, where the god of marriage is enshrined, and a plethora of power spots said to be beneficial for marriage and childbearing can be found. These power spots were all made by nature over the course of centuries. The sheer size and scale of the boulders and giant trees that have grown so much without human intervention will undoubtedly overwhelm visitors. At one of the power spots, the “Mizukumiba (place where water is drawn),” one can drink the delicious and mineral-rich water that is typical for any hot spring area.

The most popular of all the power spots at Ozegawa Hot Springs is the Ozegawa Shrine, where the gigantic “Goddess Rock” and two large snakes are enshrined. Many Jizo statues are lined up in front of the stone torii to welcome and see off worshippers. As soon as one passes through the torii, one will come across a moss-covered stone stairway in the thick growth of the grove, reminiscent of a scene from a Ghibli movie. It is recommended not only as a place to worship, but also to take photos.
